I would like to share the 5 hours Direct Reparation completed by a child working directly with his Case Manager.

The child became in trouble with the Police through theft of a bicycle. During his intervention with the Youth Justice Service, he was asked and given the opportunity to make amends for his behaviour directly to the owner of the bike, to which he agreed to do.

This consisted of him offering 5 hours of his own time working with his Case Manager at the charitable organisation of Bike Worcester. During this time the child was able to complete a thorough fault-finding assessment of a suitable bike, and then fix the faults.

The bike is now to be given to the victim to directly assist in repairing the harm that had been caused.
